Hampi (english)

Hampi is a small beautiful holy town devided into two parts because of its river in the middle. There is no bridge (only one quite far away) and you're therefore dependend on the ferry crossing the river every ten minutes, which can get annoying when there are a lot of people willing to get on the other side.

On the main side are a lot of temples and old ruines, while on the island side are beautiful rocks and a nice lake. Hampi is very touristy and because it is holy apparently alcohol is prohibited, but with certain amount of bribe money offered to the police still sold in lots of places - just a lot more expensive, reasonably.

We stayed in a hostel on the island side, made a tour around the temples and ruines during the first day and in the evening watched the sunset on top of the rocks.

After that we had nice dinner and some expensive beers in a hostel's restaurant where Maxi and Norman still stayed one night before they headed south. Nice meeting them once again, even though Albert was gone already, because he had to catch his flight from Chennai which is on India's eastcoast.
On the second day, wednesday the 14th of january we had to book our train and bus tickets for the following week. After that we went to the lake. Nice cliff jumping from a not too high cliff - perfect for beginners! :-D

The evening we spent at a place called hidden Gardens, with some live jamming and a chilled athmosphere and nice shisha.

At the third day unfortunately a Festival took place which attracted way too many Indian tourists and a lot of horrible people. No good day. You couldn't really move at the street, because of too many people. And what kind of people.. Unfriendly, staring and trying to touch you, not just the girls. Seriously ugly. Well, at least the Rocks in the evening were as nice as on the first day.
Friday morning we took the rickshaw to hospet, the closest train station, and the train to Hubli and from Hubli over night to Mumbai. And we had to say Bye to Tom, because his flight was back home from Goa in a few days.
Bye Tom, Bye Hampi!

Close to our hostel another small lake
